ServiceNow CMDB sync
If ServiceNow is your source of truth for which team owns which cloud account, point CloudOptify at it — groups stay aligned with the CMDB without manual upkeep.
Connecting ServiceNow
Section titled “Connecting ServiceNow”- Go to Integrations → ServiceNow Sync.
- Enter your instance URL and credentials with read access to the relevant CMDB table.
- Map the fields CloudOptify should read — at minimum the group/team name field and the account/subscription ID field.
The ID field works like the file import column: it matches both Azure subscription GUIDs and AWS 12-digit account IDs, so one CMDB field can drive cross-cloud groups.
Running a sync
Section titled “Running a sync”- Manual — click Sync now to pull the current CMDB state.
- Each sync creates/updates groups and assigns subscriptions and accounts to match the CMDB.
The sync log
Section titled “The sync log”Every sync is logged: when it ran, teams created/updated, Azure subscriptions and AWS accounts assigned, and unmatched IDs. Unmatched values usually mean the account isn’t selected in Cloud Connections yet.
