Connection lifecycle

Cloud estates change — new subscriptions appear, old accounts are closed. CloudOptify reconciles against your clouds on every cost sync so its picture stays current and nothing dangles.

When a sync discovers a subscription or account that exists in your cloud but isn’t in CloudOptify yet:

  • With “Automatically add new accounts & subscriptions” ON (the default, on Cloud Connections), it’s added and selected — included in the next scans — as long as your plan has capacity. Over-capacity discoveries are added unselected, never silently over-limit.
  • With the toggle OFF, it’s added but left not selected for you to review.

After a sync that changed anything, the Scans page shows a short note (e.g. “2 new subscriptions added, 1 removed”).

If a selected account no longer exists in the cloud, the sync deactivates it and cleans up its references automatically:

  • It’s removed from any Cloud Group it belonged to.
  • It’s dropped from scheduled report and budget alert scopes. A report or alert is deactivated only if its scope becomes empty — multi-account scopes just lose the one entry.

When you untick an account that’s referenced somewhere, CloudOptify shows a warning listing the exact impact — which groups, reports, and alerts will be affected — before you confirm. Unreferenced accounts deselect silently.
