File import (CSV / Excel)
If you already maintain an account-to-team mapping in a spreadsheet, import it directly — groups are created and membership assigned in one pass.
Preparing the file
Section titled “Preparing the file”The importer accepts CSV and Excel. At minimum it needs two columns:
| Column | Content |
|---|---|
| Group / team name | The group each row’s account belongs to. |
| Subscription / Account ID | An Azure subscription GUID or an AWS 12-digit account ID. |
The ID column can mix both clouds freely — Azure GUIDs and AWS account IDs are recognized automatically, so one file can build cross-cloud groups. Optional columns (environment, cost center, contact) enrich the group’s business metadata.
Importing
Section titled “Importing”- On Cloud Groups → Manage Groups, open the Import dialog.
- Upload the file. CloudOptify auto-detects columns; adjust the mapping if needed.
- Review the preview and confirm.
Results
Section titled “Results”After the import you’ll see a summary:
- Groups created and updated.
- Azure subscriptions and AWS accounts assigned.
- Unmatched IDs — values that didn’t match any active subscription or account. These are reported, never silently dropped; typically they’re accounts not yet selected in Cloud Connections.
Re-importing the same file is safe — existing groups are updated rather than duplicated, so you can re-run whenever your mapping changes.
