Cloud Groups overview
Cloud Groups map your cloud estate to how the business actually runs — teams, products, cost centers, applications. Each group bundles Azure subscriptions and/or AWS accounts and gets its own complete view.
What a group gives you
Section titled “What a group gives you”For every group:
- Spend — the group’s share of total cost, trend, and forecast.
- Findings & savings — optimization findings scoped to the group’s resources.
- Reports & exports — a per-group report (Excel/PDF) ready to hand to that team.
- Filtering — groups appear in the global filter, so any view can be scoped to one or more groups instantly.
The Cloud Groups page shows the all-groups picture: total spend, group count, findings, and estimated savings, with a spend-share breakdown per group.
Three ways to build groups
Section titled “Three ways to build groups”| Method | Best when |
|---|---|
| Manual | You have a handful of groups or need something the org chart doesn’t capture. |
| File import | You already maintain a mapping in CSV/Excel. |
| ServiceNow CMDB sync | Your CMDB is the source of truth — keep groups aligned automatically. |
All three can coexist — for example, CMDB-synced groups plus a few hand-built ones.
Exclusive membership
Section titled “Exclusive membership”An organization-level setting controls whether a subscription/account can belong to only one group (strict allocation, no double counting) or multiple groups (overlapping lenses). Choose based on whether groups represent chargeback units or analytical views.
